This is an original, United States Navy collection belonging to my late father who served aboard USS Point Defiance (LSD-31) from May 1959 – October 1964. This is a true grouping, not an assembled lot, and represents an authentic piece of U. USS Point Defiance LSD-31 metal cigarette box stamped “ALPHA Switzerland” on reverse. Navy photograph dated 1963 showing Bathyscaphe TRIESTE operations aboard USS Point Defiance LSD-31, with official U. Navy Electronics Laboratory stamp. My father is enlisted boatswain mate in the photo. Original USS Point Defiance LSD-31 photograph full length. Original Letter of Commendation issued to Paul F. Lee, USS Point Defiance LSD-31, dated April 3, 1961, recognizing leadership, initiative, and selection as Honor Non-Rated Man of the Quarter. Vintage United States Navy embroidered display flag with gold fringe (matching the US flag in size 4 1/3 ft x 5 1/2 ft). Vintage embroidered American flag with gold fringe, labeled 4 1/3 ft x 5 1/2 ft, designed for parade, pole, or indoor display. All items are original vintage Navy materials showing normal wear consistent with age, service use, and storage. Photographs and documents show age toning and minor wear but remain legible and intact. Metal plaque shows patina consistent with age. Flags show light wear consistent with display and storage.
