USLHS Lightship Diamond Shoals #105 Original Snapshots (9) Fishing 1930s
(9) original black and white snapshots of the United States Lighthouse Service lightship ” Diamond” #105. They show the crew fishing with their catches. Also a Buoy and the Wild Sea. Seven measure 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and two measure 2 5/8 x 4 1/2 inches. Taken by USLHS seaman Floyd Earl Crewe of Mathews Virginia. He joined the crew in 1930 as a seaman. These were removed from an album and have corner mounts still attached with ink identification at top. I consider these extremely rare and are priced appropriately for their rarity. They are each a one of a kind. He was the last Civilian Unites Sates lighthouse keeper retiring in 1968 with 38 years service. He was stationed at Wolf Trap lighthouse at the time of his retirement. Please view my other items. The 5th photo shows the “Diamond” USLHS life ring in the background. It has some damage to image in the center seaman’s face. The others are in good condition.
