USLHS Lightship Diamond Shoals #105 B&W Snapshots (6) Portsmouth Depot
This collection features six original black and white snapshots of the USLHS Lightship “Diamond” Shoals #105 in Portsmouth Lighthouse Depot in Sept of 1933. Documenting the vessel’s presence and the hurricane damage it sustained in Sept 1933. These photographs are a testament to the rich history of transportation and military practices in the United States during the early 20th century. The images capture the essence of the lightship’s design and the aftermath of the storm, providing a unique glimpse into the past. Perfect for collectors of transportation and military memorabilia, as well as those interested in the history of hurricanes and their impact on coastal communities. He was onboard for the Chesapeake/Potomac Hurricane and survived the 150 mph winds. In condition seen in my photos. Removed from an album and still have corner mounts attached. The 5th photo shows used and brand new Buoys at the depot with shore facilities in background. Dated at top in ink. I believe these are quite rare and each one of a kind.
