The USS Constitution was first built in 1794 and participated in many key conflicts, including Tripoli and the War of 1812. It has been through many large-scale restorations–and is currently afloat in Boston Harbor! The USS Constitution Museum includes one of these plaques on display. The wood is aged and full of character–and has split along one seam, but could be temporarily/permanently re-attached for display, The plaque is also missing one nail from the copper plate.
