





















It was named in honor of the five Sullivan brothers from Waterloo, Iowa who served together on the USS Juneau during WWII. The brothers: George(28), Francis(27), Joseph(24), Madison(23), and Albert(20) all lost their lives during the Battle of Guadalcanal on November 13, 1942. They had insisted on serving together in spite of the Navy wartime policy of separating family members. Tragically it was the greatest military loss by one American family during WWII. The crest contains five interlaced swords to honor the Sullivan brothers and commemorate their spirit of patriotism and teamwork. Roncolato who served in that position until September of 1998.
