Rescue boat of USSR pilots. MLAS 1
Single-seat aviation rescue boat MLAS-1, new, out of storage. The single-seat small aircraft boat MLAS-1-OB is an individual rescue device for pilots and paratroopers when parachuting into water with weapons, equipment and communications equipment. MLAS-1-OB is made of diagonally duplicated rubberized silk fabric, dyed orange. Its main parts are the inflatable sides and the bottom. The sides represent one common shell (chamber) without compartments, formed by six truncated bodies and cylinders made of rubberized fabric glued together. For comfortable placement of a person in the boat and for better stability, the shell of the sides in the stern part has a larger diameter than in the bow. A manual bellows is mounted on the left side, allowing the shell to be inflated with air if necessary. The fur is not removable; it is secured to the boat using a rubber tube glued into the shell. In the working position, it is placed in a special pocket glued to the shell. To release residual gas or air from the shell (when preparing the boat for stowage), an outlet valve with a threaded plug is mounted in its stern. There are two pairs of tape handrails glued to the side of the boat to make it easier for a paratrooper to get into the boat. In order to give the boat stability in the stern part, a water ballast bag is glued to the bottom. Length 1890 mm, width of the stern 960 mm, bow 540 mm. It is easy to carry, compact when folded (can be carried in a backpack pocket), and has a low weight, which is its main advantage. The boat’s load capacity is 100 kg, the permissible ambient temperature is -30 to +50. Great for fishermen and hunters. The boat kit includes a boat, a cover, a folding scoop (pictured) and a folding pump (see photo). If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer.
