USS Midway (CV-41) Aircraft Carrier Model, Navy, Scale Model, Mahogany, Midway Class Aircraft Carrier. Midway again sailed for the Far East 6 March 1965, and from mid-April flew strikes against military and logistics installations in North and South Vietnam including the first combat use of AGM-12 Bullpup air-to-surface missiles.

A manual bellows is mounted on the left side, allowing the shell to be inflated with air if necessary. The fur is not removable; it is secured to the boat using a rubber tube glued into the shell. In the working position, it is placed in a special pocket glued to the shell.

There are 22 slides in this lot. However – the best of these are the first six. The images were taken from the USS Carpenter on the high seas in 1968. I haven’t identified the other vessel but it has the number “22” on it’s bow. The color and clarity are better than my scanner… (read more)
