Antique Signed US Navy “Smokers” Boxing Photo! Back in the day, President Roosevelt promoted an idea for boxing matches to take place on naval vessels. This idea was to promote camaraderie. This photo was taken after a fight onboard the USS NEVADA in 1927. This photo is signed by Navy boxer, “Sailor” Jimmy Woodruff and presented to Johnny Madden.
