Large Serving Platter From CIVIL War Troop Ship Continental Of Philadelphia
Large and heavy serving platter, measures 14 1/4 long, X 10 3/4 high X 2 deep. Has a worn red white and blue border. It was made by Henry Alcock & Co. No cracks or chips, but has some scratches and wear from normal use. See the photos for a very interesting descriptive history of the Continental, which I had researched by the Independence Seaport Museum, at Penns Landing, Philadelphia. I have never seen another surviving example of this tableware. I will send to the US only. Any questions, please ask.
