7′ Model Boat Ship Hull from MIT Museum Nuclear Aircraft Carrier USS Enterprise
It is made of mostly fiberglass and wood. It measures approximately 85″ Length x 6″ Height. It was earmarked to be discarded years ago from the Hart Nautical Collection at the MIT Museum in Cambridge Ma. It was rescued by a contractor and stored in the rafters of his garage ever since. The Museum highlights ships and hulls from some of the most famous engineers and this hull is no doubt one of them, although it is conceivable that it was also used for research. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. UPDATE: I was informed by a hobbyist that this is definitely an aircraft carrier and is likely the U. It was used in many films like Top Gun and the Starship Enterprise was named after her. From the Smithsonian Museum (regarding a completed model): In 1982, the Museum acquired this 11-foot model of the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise. Save yourself a few thousand hours and just finish this one! Nothing more, nothing less. I can answer any questions you may have or provide more pictures upon request.
