VINTAGE ANTIQUE WESTLAKE WOOD WWI SUBMARINE 1920’S – 1930’S VERY RARE MODEL COMPANY IN ERIE PA. THIS MODEL is believed to be a WWI submarine and is believe to be a kit from Westlake Model Co. From the 1920’s – 1930’s. I found this model advertised in July of 1935 in a Boys’ Life Magazine in several different years and also found ads in popular science magazines. The ad says “Scale Model Submarine S-50, 19″ long with water ballast chamber and air control valve for diving. Die cast conning tower, gun and keel parts brass trim. This model is approx 17 long due to a piece missing from the front and back of the Sub. The Sub is overall in very good condition and is the most complete i have been able to find, most of the Sub’s are missing the conning tower and the chain that goes around the deck. You can see some lettering on the bottom that is not completely legible. This is a must have for collectors and military and Submarine enthusiasts. Please use the pictures for your own assessment and feel free to ask any questions or concerns before purchasing. Thank you for looking.
