As you can see i have a large stack of water tight doors including the bridge doors of the Preble, Coontz and Sampson. The doors in this listing are for doors with out lights(glass windows). All of the doors are 8 dog doors with some left hand and some right hand. I do have a couple of frames with dogs that came from the Spiegel Grove LSD-32. They were cut out with a torch and they have a warp to them. Not sure if that would go away if they were to be welded to a flat surface. I also have two special doors and one frame from the uss coontz. They were from the missile assy area and the doors are very thick steel with no boxing of the surface, The frame i have is bent near the bottom. If anyone has interest in these particular doors then please write for more information. The last picture with a door with a red plate on it is a sample of what the steel doors look like. The water tight doors for sale are in original color and most have the crewman’s name that was in charge of the compartment still on them. The doors are complete with the knife edge , dogging handles and the door itself still attached with the brass pins. The price featured is for one door assy. This water tight door was removed from the uss Stark during the scrapping process by metro machine at the philly navy yard. It is complete with dogs and knife edge and ready for some handy person to build this into there shed or barn or at home man cave. This is the only full door that i’m aware of saved from the Stark. The door and knife edge are steel. The knife edge is welded to the aluminum superstructure which was cut out of the stark with a saw rather then a cutting torch which warps the metal.
