Sextant, WWII Ball Recording 1944. This piece was made in 1944 by the Mergenthaler Linotype Corp out of Brooklyn, NY. The serial #6183 matches the one on the box, the celebration document and on the instrument. It is very rare to have the serial numbers match. The box also contains a transfer letter from the USS Chandeleur AV 10 to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard dated 15 May 1947. This original piece is complete and in excellent condition.
