This unit has two pieces. The top of this unit was removed from the Luce. The base units had been left on the module and not removed by Metro machine and I removed them to complete the unit.

I removed most of the items from this control room while this module was at Camden Iron and Scrap to be scrapped. This is from the starboard turbine control center on the Mahan. Its color is similar to candy apple red. The port control room was painted blue. I was not able to salvage anything from that compartment. The photo’s show the console and this indicator was under the wooden board.

AN EARLY TO MID 20TH CENTURY HAMILTON MODEL 21 HIGH GRADE 14 JEWEL MARINE CHRONOMETER / MARITIME CLOCK WITH AN UP/DOWN POWER RESERVE INDICATOR. THE CLOCK COMES IN THE CORRECT ORIGINAL HAMILTON WOODEN CASE WITH BRASS HARDWARE. THE WOOD HAS A DOUBLE LID. THE TOP LID REVEALS A CLEAR GLASS BEZEL TO VIEW THE DIAL. THE BOTTOM LID LIFTS TO GET TO THE CLOCK MOVEMENT FOR WINDING, SERVICE, ETC… THE CLOCK BRACKET IS FULLY GIMBALLED FOR MOTION AT SEA. THE CLOCK IS SIGNED ON THE DIAL, MOVEMENT AND CASE. IT HAS A METALLIC SILVER DIAL WITH ARABIC NUMERALS. IT COMES WITH THE CORRECT ORIGINAL HEAVY SOLID BRASS WINDING KEY. I WOUND THE CLOCK AS SOON AS IT WAS ACQUIRED FROM THE ESTATE AGENT. THE KEY WINDS THE CLOCK UP SMOOTH. IT CAME RIGHT TO LIFE AND RAN SMOOTH ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE WINDING W/O STOPPING. THE CLOCK KEPT EXCELLENT TIME ALL DAY LONG TOO. THE UP/DOWN SUB-REGISTER WORKS PERFECTLY. THE DIAL IS TRULY SUPER BRIGHT & CLEAN WITH A FEW MINUTE MINOR SPOTS. THE REFLECTOR RING IS CLEAN & BRIGHT. THE THICK BEVELED EDGE GLASS CRYSTAL IS CLEAN & CLEAR. THE REAR DUST COVER PLATE IS STILL SPRING LOADED & SNAPS BACK INTO THE CLOSED POSITION WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM WINDING STEM. THE GIMBLE IS IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER. THE GIMBLE LOCK BAR WORKS PERFECTLY TOO. THE BRASS CASING & GIMBLE ASSEMBLY ARE CLEAN. NOTHING IS BENT UP, STRIPPED OUT, CRACKED, LOOSE, SEIZED UP, MODIFIED OR REPAIRED. THE WOOD CASE IS COMPLETE, ALL ORIGINAL, TIGHT & STRAIGHT. THE WOOD FINISH OBVIOUSLY HAS SOME DEEP SCRATCHES HERE & THERE FROM AGE & USE. THE TOP LID GLASS BEZEL IS NOT CRACKED OR FOGGED UP. BOTH LIDS OPEN AND CLOSE FINE. THE HINGES & CLASPS WORK FINE.
