USS George Bancroft SSBN-643 Submarine Model (Black Hull). Sail again with the crew of the USS George Bancroft SSBN-643 in this handcrafted wooden submarine model. Each piece is carved from wood and handpainted to provide a piece you’ll love. Length – 20 inches. US Veteran Owned Business. The contract to build George Bancroft was awarded to the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation in Groton, Connecticut, on 1 November 1962 and her keel was laid down there on 24 August 1963. She was launched on 20 March 1965, sponsored by Mrs. Anita Irvine, and commissioned on 22 January 1966, with Captain Joseph Williams in command of the Blue Crew and Commander Walter M. Douglass in command of the Gold Crew. Service history George Bancroft was assigned to Submarine Squadron 14 of Submarine Flotilla 6 with New London, Connecticut, as her home port. Her first deployment began with her departure from New London on her first deterrent patrol on 26 July 1966, manned by the Blue Crew. Soon after she successfully completed the patrol with her arrival at Holy Loch, Scotland, the Gold Crew relieved the Blue Crew. A few weeks later, George Bancroft got underway for her second deterrent patrol, manned by the Gold Crew, which ended toward the close of the year. Early in 1967, George Bancroft began her third deterrent patrol, manned by the Blue Crew. George Bancroft was decommissioned on 21 September 1993 and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register the same day. Commemoration George Bancroft’s sail is on display at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia.

Scarce official Admiralty programme produced for the Silver Jubilee Fleet Review at Spithead on 16 July 1935 under King George V. The printed “Outline Programme of Events” covers the Royal Yacht Victoria and Albert, Trinity House Yacht Patricia, inspection of the Fleet, the Fleet Air Arm fly-past, and the evening illumination and searchlight display, followed by exercises off Portsmouth on 17 July. Physical condition is good overall. Text leaves generally clean with mild toning at margins, occasional specks and thumb-touch, and a couple of tiny corner turns; binding secure at the cord. The large folding colour chart is present and complete, showing normal fold-line toning and small splits and edge nicks at a few fold intersections; colours remain strong; chart does not appear to have been properly folded for quite some time and no longer folds easily into the volume as pictured. Printer’s imprint Harrison and Sons, Ltd. Martin’s Lane, London, W. 2., Printers in Ordinary to His Majesty appears at rear as issued. Make sure to see the photos above for complete details. Secretary of State and the U. Marshall was built by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Virginia, with its keel being laid in 1964. It was launched in 1965 and commissioned in 1966, with Commander Warren Richardson Cobean Jr. Leading the Blue Crew and Commander Willard Edward Johnson commanding the Gold Crew. Throughout its career, the George C. Marshall SSBN-654 conducted 78 strategic deterrent patrols and visited various locations, including Faslane Submarine Base in Scotland, Rota Naval Station in Spain, and Weymouth, England. It underwent several overhauls and modifications, including the installation of a Mobile Submarine Simulator decoy system on two of its tubes. In his speech at the launching ceremony, former U.
