An authentic WWII U. Navy submarine klaxon diving bell that makes the ah-oo-gah sound. Wood knob on diving alarm handle is six sided. Plate on actual horn reads NO. 47950 TYPE H – 9 CONTRA. CURRENT 71 AMPS BENJAMIN ELECTRIC MFG. NEW YORK – SAN FRANCISCO – DES PLAINES, ILL.. The horn and switch are connected by a heavy wire and there is a similar wire that has a three prong style electrical outlet plug that is connected to the plunger style switch box. When plugged in, the alarm does not work. It may be a simple fix as this was a working bell for years and simply has not been used for a long time. The plunger handle moves perfectly as this two piece apparatus shows the correct age.
