This is a museum-quality, fully assembled model of the Wasa (Vasa)-Sweden’s legendary warship that tragically sank less than a mile into its maiden voyage in 1628. Raised from the sea in 1961, it now stands as one of Sweden’s most popular museum attractions. This Exclusive Edition features a laser-etched serial number on the hull for authenticity and production tracking. Handcrafted by expert artisans using historical plans, the model is built to scale with high-quality woods like western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany, using the traditional plank-on-frame method. Each model takes hundreds of hours to complete and is inspected through strict quality control. This stunning model includes three decks and two and a half rows of brass cannons per side. The detailed bowsprit features brass statues and panel ornaments, while the three large masts are rigged with finely hand-knotted lines and hand-stitched linen sails. Visible features include metal anchors, a wooden rudder, lifeboats, wooden cabins, and a beautifully detailed admiral’s quarter with brass ornaments. Comes with a solid wood base and brass nameplate-a striking gift or display piece for collectors, nautical lovers, or office and home décor. Commissioned by King Gustavus Adolphus, the Vasa was one of the most elaborate and heavily armed warships of its time-but it was top-heavy and unstable. Just minutes into its first voyage, it capsized and sank after catching a strong gust of wind. Marine archaeologists uncovered thousands of artifacts-including clothing, weapons, tools, coins, food, and sails, along with the remains of at least 15 people. The Vasa stands today as a powerful reminder of naval ambition, engineering flaws, and Sweden’s maritime history. Features and further details.
