WW2 German Kriegsmarine 7x50 Leitz U-BOAT BINOCULARS VERY NICE
The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis. This specific binocular was used by U-Boat crews, ships, and coastal artillery. Made by Leitz of a large tooled alloy and aluminum construction, these 7 x 50 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition! The lens bodies retain about 80% of their original, rough textured, black finish (some is missing/peeling), but is otherwise complete! The focus adjustment still functions on both eye pieces and the optics are still VERY clear (some spotting)! Sadly, some fool decided it was a good ideas to replace the part on the right side body that had the original adler and other military markings. Left side is marked 7 x 50, along with a Leitz Manufacture logo. Note that I do not see any coating on the lenses. Sadly, the optic alignment is off, so these would have to be repaired, as there is a double image when looking through. He rain shield is original, but has broken off. Strap is original, as is the case. Also comes with the TWO original lens filters (these are usually missing)! The case is the RARER taller type, that has a section dedicated to lens filters in the upper half. It is well-marked with the KM Adler, and a date of 1941. A PERFECT addition to any collection or display! TERMS OF SALE. Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. ABOUT ME.
