LIMITED-EDITION Franklin Mint USS Yorktown CV-10 Aircraft Carrier Model! It has been proudly displayed in the smoke and pet-free home of a Yorktown crewmember who recently passed. This Franklin Mint limited-edition model is stamped #353 of 1943 and bears the signature of Admiral James Condit. 34 of the original planes are included in this listing as well as parts and pieces of 5 other planes. The original box, paperwork and CoA are NOT included. The USS Yorktown CV-10 is an Essex-class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. The CV-10 was initially named as Bon Homme Richard. On September 26, 1942, it was renamed in tribute to USS Yorktown CV-5. It became the fourth US warship to bear the name of a town in Virginia. The CV-10 was reconstructed to SCB-27A design by the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard which began in March 1951. It was recommissioned in February 1953. The CV-10 was reclassified as an “Attack Aircraft Carrier” and was re-designated CVA-10. The CV-10 has a modernized flight deck with an enclosed “hurricane” bow. The CV-10 was reclassified as an “Anti-submarine Warfare Support Aircraft Carrier” and was re-designated as CVS-10 on September 1, 1957. This model has accumulated some dust, two of the radio towers are slightly bent and a few of the aircraft have bent/broken tires/propellers, but otherwise it is in quite good condition. As with any previously owned piece, anyone looking for additional defects may find them, so we cant guarantee this piece is 100% blemish-free but it is in wonderful condition!
