This book is the final volume of Gavard’s monumental work, containing the plates that relate to his text. The 100 copper engravings are exquisite and finely detailed, each suitable for framing. They cover important moments in the history of France from the 6th through the 19th centuries including over 20 related to Napoleon. There are numerous battle scenes, many depicting sea skirmishes.
