This is a 1/1250 scale metal waterline model of the aircraft carrier U. Franklin, manufactured in Germany by Neptun, Catalog No. N1310a, and painted as sistership U. Intrepid (CV-11) as in 1944. I have customized this model by replacing the 5 and 20mm AA barrels with steel wire which will not bend or break, and by drilling out the portholes for sharper relief. I have also stripped and custom painted it in the Ms. Model is 8.25 inches (21 cm) long, and will be carefully packed in its own Neptun-style box.
